Buttons and Bows an informal group initiated from the former group Kenyan Project into Africa and our ladies have continued to produce children’s garments. We have been able to send items out to Malawi and collect gifts for shoe boxes, plus giving comfort blankets and baby hats to local hospitals. If you would like to use your skills in making clothes for babies and needy children you would be made welcome.
We meet on first Tuesday in every month 1.30 until 3.30 Venue: Mawson Room, Memorial Hall Slyne with Hest. Our last session is 6 June and we meet again on 5 September 2017
The Malawi container left on the 10th March so it will be arriving shortly.
Another two large parcels of jumpers have been sent to Romania.
Two large suitcases of comfort blankets and baby hats have been collected. Plus a large case for the Woman’s refuge Preston.
A number of blankets have been made for the Ethiopian Fistula Hospital and some are in production.
A lot of the cotton clothes are being taken to Zambia.
The group have ladies who enjoy being creative at home. So whether you wish to sew, knit or crochet at home or with the group you are welcome to join us. If you would like to know more about the work and where the clothes are sent, please contact me. Susan Rae Tel: 01524 823928
Come along and see the type of things we make, there are items for every level of skill, or even if you think you have no skills at all, you will be made welcome.
Tea/Coffee and a home made cake will be available at a small charge of £2.00. This helps to pay for the hire of the room
