Children’s Charity moves to Lancaster

Children’s charity, Community Foster Care is now based in Lancaster.  We are a small agency which recruits,  assesses and supports foster carers to provide local placements for local children.Community Foster Care

Community Foster Care is unique in that it started out in the Neighborhood Projects in Gloucester concentrating on families that thought they couldn’t foster and whilst we’ve grown, we are extremely proud of our roots.  Our Lancashire office opened in 2012 as there are more than 1,300 children in Lancashire in need of foster carers and the number is rising.

We are different from other independent agencies because we are non profit making; that means that any surplus is put back into supporting the carers and children.  We provide a very high level of support which includes specialist training, 24 hours social work support, a generous financial allowance and regular days out for children and families.  Our carers say that the agency feels like being part of a large family and these relationships are important to us all.

We are looking to recruit new carers in the area.  We need people from all walks of life and you can be single, married, male or female, have children of your own or have no parenting experience.  We provide different types of placements and are particularly interested in hearing from people who can work with us to support children return to live with their birth families.

If you are interested, please don’t hesitate to give us a call or send us an e mail and we can have an informal chat about what the role entails and what we can offer you.

It’s a challenging job, but so rewarding and a chance to make a real difference to a child’s life and yours.
